Abstract

The talk about managing generations has been increased rapidly in the last decade. Several reports and studies discuss the increase of conflict between the different workforce generations which lead to organizational problems. In Oman, Millennials become the main pillar of workforce. By studying preliminary published data, it is clearly noticed that Millennial represents 61% of total workforce in private sectors which represent 24% from total population. Baby boomers and Gen-X represent about one third of the workforce, however majority of the existing leaders are from this category. On the other hand, reports show that average rate of the annual turnover in private sector is 17% in the last 5 years and 71% of those who leaves the organizations are Millennial. Purpose - This is a unique study which attempts to understand the research clusters and thematic evolution of the topic of the critical role of HR executives in developing futures Millennials leaders in private sector in Oman. The purpose of this research is to help the HR executives to develop the future leaders carefully and effectively and identifying the competencies gap in the current and future leaders.
