Abstract

Although there is an increasing interest towards the voluntary adoption of an EMS, organizations are yet influenced by external factors such as regulatory compliance, customer requirements and market pressures that oblige them to seek environmental management. Hence, this study aims to explore the effect of external factors on the effective implementation of ISO 14000 EMS and also explore whether there is a connection between implementation and corporate sustainability in Malaysian manufacturing industries.
