Abstract
This study explores the relationship between emotional intelligence (EI) and effectiveness in leadership in financial decision-making at Black Cat JSC, one of the leading Vietnamese industrial services groups with a focus on insulation, scaffolding, and protective coatings for the heavy industries. Drawing from a large-scale quantitative survey design, this study aims to reveal the specific EI components that are most important contributors to the effectiveness in leadership in financial management. Data, secured from a stratified sample of senior leaders and financial managers of Black Cat JSC, will confirm the degree to which every one of the EI dimensions—self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills—contributes towards enhanced financial decision outcomes. The study will seek to determine the most critical EI factors that would contribute to enhancing leadership effectiveness in financial planning and operational execution, and thus enrich the overall knowledge base on effective financial leadership within the industrial environment. Employing proven EI measuring instruments and financial performance indicators, the study will establish empirical proof on the strategic use of EI in developing excellent financial leadership. Anticipated results will give actionable advice on the design of targeted EI-based training to build leadership capacity in Black Cat JSC and comparable industrial organizations, which could boost organizational resilience and profitability. EI is brought into prominence by this study as a major driver of leadership effectiveness in the context of complex financial systems.
