Abstract

Visitors especially unwelcome visitors may pose possible risks to school children at school. This leads school administrators to reinforce their school visitor management procedures. Current visitor registration practice in Malaysia still lack of a convenient and robust system to manage school visitor registration process and visitor record tracking. This paper reports the design and development of a new school management system with the integration of Malaysian identity card (MyKad) with extra security and data protection features known as EasyVZ school visitor management system. This system can manage either pre-registration or walk-in visitors as well as local and nonlocal visitors. A complete system testing has been conducted and no major issue is reported. With EasyVZ, the school visitor information can accurately be captured, easily be tracked and data can securely be kept. It helps to improve the work of school administrative officers and school security guards in handling school visitors. Privacy and sensitive personal data of all visitors are protected besides ensuring school children safety at school.
