Work-family conflict, refers to the interrole conflict that forms between the roles formed in the work territory, and family territory respectively (Greenhaus and Beutell, 1985). Decision-making, is one of the factors affecting work-family conflict as the decisions made by an individual can gravely affect the choices they make in choosing between two territories as to which demands should be fulfilled first, thus, this dilemma can cause work-family conflict. Work-related stress, juggle the effects of role overload, role conflict and role ambiguity, and how the characteristics of the overwhelming roles an individual carries, can affect and lead to work-family conflict. Emotional intelligence, is also another key into affecting work-family conflict, as an individual would need to have the emotional knowledge to discern the right action to take. The wrong choices, can lead to complications and conflict. Lastly, workaholic culture also paints an obvious picture as to how it can affect work-family conflict. Conducting a study towards how workaholic culture applied in organisations in the Malaysian context, can affect work-family conflict.
