Abstract

Absenteeism is a growing problem to an organization whether it is private or public sector. It causes disruption in daily operation and costly to corporate earnings and performance. Recent year employers have pay more attention to impose control measure on absenteeism and based on many researchers work life quality has direct effect on improving absenteeism rate. According to Maslow’s hierarchy of need, the most basic level of need must be met before the individual will strongly desire or motivation to the secondary or higher level of needs. Our study aims to identify what are the factors constitute work life quality and to establish the relationship between work life quality on employees’ absenteeism in an organization. We hope that the result of the study which highlights those underlying factors will be useful to the organization in improving the work life quality in the organization in order to increase the motivation level of their employees and reduce the absenteeism rate. These will increase employees commitment toward achieving organization goal which may result in improve operating efficiency and decrease in operating costs.
