Production, storage, and consumer demand must all be balanced for supply chain operations to be optimized, and inventory control is essential to this process. Conventional Economic Production Quantity (EPQ) models tend to overlook the effects of rental warehouses, return sales, remanufacturing, and warranty claims in favour of concentrating on single-warehouse systems. To effectively store and manage inventory while lowering costs, companies usually use two-warehouse models in contemporary inventory systems: an owned warehouse and a rented warehouse. Despite offering more storage space, the rental warehouse has higher holding costs; therefore, it’s important to consider how it affects overall profitability.
