Abstract

In today’s dynamic business landscape, organizations increasingly rely on data to inform timely and strategic decision-making, especially within Agile project environments. This study investigates the role of Agile methodologies in enhancing datadriven decision-making (DDDM) by focusing on the influence of dynamic capabilities such as information quality and iterative development. Grounded in Dynamic Capabilities Theory, the research explores how internal organizational resources facilitate responsive and informed decision-making in Agile project settings. A quantitative research design was employed, collecting data from project professionals in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). Using SPSS-based statistical analysis, the study found that information quality significantly impacts both iterative development and DDDM. Iterative development was also identified as a crucial enabler of DDDM, acting as a mediating mechanism between organizational capabilities and decision outcomes. Contrary to expectations, the moderating role of organizational culture on the relationship between iterative development and DDDM was not supported. These findings contribute to the growing body of knowledge linking Agile methodologies with strategic decision-making and offer practical insights for project managers aiming to leverage data effectively. The study concludes by recommending a stronger alignment of technical infrastructure, iterative processes, and information quality to optimize decision-making in Agile projects.
