Abstract

Live streaming and video recording (LSVR) while driving is becoming a trend in Malaysia. Even though the act is dangerous and against the laws, the public have been observed to jump into the trend throughout the years. It is mainly due to the advancements in technology and the effects of Covid-19 pandemic that makes the frequency of the activity to rise. Thus, this study intends to provide some closure to the issue by identifying the factors that affect the intention to conduct it. Methods used for problem identification and data gathering were illustrative case study and survey. While for the analysis, thematic analysis and PLS-SEM were used. From the results obtained, it shows that LSVR while driving is a dangerous trend that has been growing in Malaysia. In addition to that, fear of missing out (FOMO) trait has a significant positive relationship with the intention for LSVR while driving.
