Abstract
The growth of the IoT technologies allowed devices all around the world to be connected, monitored, and controlled in real time via application program interfaces (APIs). The system proposed here utilizes the advancement of the IoT technologies to automate the task of caring after houseplants. The system is able to monitor different parameters that could be useful for the growth of the plant such as soil moisture and light intensity, has its own customized cloud platform to process data and take actions based on the readings of the parameters, and has its own cross platform smartphone application to allow the user view real time and historical data, and control the actuators from anywhere in the world.
