Abstract

Background - Companies place a high value on good project management since it directly correlates to increased profits for the firm. The completion of a project does not necessarily indicate its complete and total success; rather, the primary objective of an IT project is to ensure that all of its stakeholders are happy with the results. According to the related literatures that have discussed pertinent items relating to project critical success factors (CSFs), specifically IT projects, the role of key stakeholders as their influencing mechanism is generally overlooked. This is the case despite the fact that these pertinent items have been discussed. When it comes to the creation of software, agile development methods are used to manage change by delivering early and frequently in the form of working products. This is accomplished through continuous planning, improvement, execution, and feedback loops, which are carried out jointly by project stakeholders and software developers. Purpose - In spite of its broad adoption and deployment, there is still a lack of specific understanding regarding how agile qualities enable Digital Transformation in ensuring that internal stakeholders are pleased, and there is no complete agreement over this matter. In addition, the existing body of research disregards the ways in which the characteristics of agile IT projects affect internal stakeholders. The purpose of this study is to investigate the elements that influence the level of satisfaction experienced by stakeholders in IT projects through the features of agile projects. The following research questions will provide the answers needed to accomplish this primary goal. Are agile IT project characteristics (quality intelligence, customer centricity) and IT governance and adaptive business practices contributing to the Digital Transformation? Are project attributes and inclusive growth important in this relationship? As an IT project stakeholder's satisfaction increases, how do all of these variables interact? Design/ methodology/approach - In answering the questions and to know in depth about how the factors contributes towards satisfying IT project stakeholders, Task Technology Fit Theory, New Institutional Theory and Complex Adaptive System Theory, are referred to. Quantitative data will be gathered by interviewing around 250 internal IT project stakeholders including team members; project managers; systems analysts/programmers; system integration; IT support and maintenance; helpdesk; helpdesk/IT PMO/IT Management; IT Governance; and IT Customer Management Team members. A respondentdriven non-probability sampling method will be used to pick a representative sample from the large population spread out over Malaysia. Data collection instrument design is now in progress, with a study framework already established. Descriptive statistics and path modelling will be used to assess the newly gathered data. The data will be analysed using the most current versions of SPSS and PLS-SEM. Findings/Expected Contributions - We believe that this study will provide concrete facts to help IT project managers, consultants, and companies succeed in their projects by using agile methodologies. That it gives a great opportunity for digital transformation is highlighted. It is believed that this research will contribute to the field of project management and the value of agile project management methods. Research limitations - For the purposes of this study, respondents are confined to internal IT Project Management stakeholders in Malaysia. Originality/value - Digital Transformation concepts goes beyond IR 4.0. Positioning IT Agile fostering digital transformation propels this research beyond tomorrow.
