Researchers from the university, which has only four years under its belt, have started making an impact at the international level with various patents and publications, the university's president, Prof Dr Ghauth Jasmon, told a packed audience at Cyberjaya yesterday. "The MMU is clearly achieving its goal of supporting the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) by churning out the right type of knowledge workers to support companies in the MSC. "The university was created to undertake the daunting task of educating young Malaysians. We have the task of developing and delivering innovative multimedia and IT-based programmes, multimedia and IT competency development, spawning young cyberpreneurs, and conducting research and development jointly with industry in these critical areas. So far we seem to be achieving our targets," he said.
