Abstract

AI Chatbots are computer programs that simulate human communication with consumers using e-commerce platforms to purchase electronic merchandise. Chatbots as ChatGPT (OpenAI), DeepSeek, Meta AI, Google Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot are frequently used in a wide variety of online situations, from customer service to sales. One of the best-known examples of conversational AI delivered through Chatbots includes e-commerce sites where chatbots allow customers to ask questions about a particular product and receive an instant response. An enterprise artificial intelligence solution can empower companies to automate self-service and accelerate the development of exceptional user experiences. Current research studies the gap in research about consumer intention to purchase goods from e-commerce platforms, specifically in electronic merchandise applications and about the effect of using Artificial Intelligence (AI) on consumer behavior. There is a need to study this topic because despite the growing e-commerce scene and decades of studies into consumer behavior, there is limited research that address what are the specific factors affect the consumer’s intention to purchase electronic merchandise through e-commerce platforms. This pilot study evaluates the methods that will be used in the main research by confirming the validity and reliability of the research instrument.
