Abstract

The Warehouse Management System (WMS) plays a crucial role in modern businesses by efficiently tracking and managing inventory to meet evolving market demands. However, traditional task scheduling methods in WMS often struggle to keep pace with the rapid changes driven by Industry 4.0. This becomes particularly evident when businesses face the challenge of meeting strict delivery deadlines, highlighting the need for more adaptive warehouse management strategies. Improving current scheduling methods is essential for WMS to remain effective in dynamic environments. To address the challenge of using a single method to cater to diverse business requirements across different sectors, a Multi-Criteria Priority-Based Scheduling (MC-PBS) method is proposed. Experimental results demonstrate that the MC-PBS method is capable of effectively handling both rare needs, like lowering dead stock, and common ones, and reducing missed deadlines in task plans.
