Abstract

This paper presents an interactive mobile learning tool designed to support engagement and learning about Malaysian history. Traditional learning methods often result in low student motivation and a shallow understanding of the topics in history education. Existing digital tools for history education are frequently fragmented or lack localized content. The proposed tool addresses these issues by providing a unified platform built with Flutter and Firebase. The proposed work integrates a multi-layered gamification strategy, including a progressively unlocking timeline, scoring and streaks in quizzes and a collectible stamp system with a rich repository of Malaysian historical content. A user evaluation with 33 participants confirmed the application’s high usability and stability, with all the users reporting a bug-free experience. The results demonstrate that the proposed tool is an effective and engaging tool that successfully enhances the learning experience for Malaysian history
