Abstract
The rapid expansion of Construction 4.0 demands adaptive leadership to enhance organizational agility. The construction industry, spurred by C4.0, calls for leadership styles that promote organizational agility. This study examines the impact of transformational leadership (TFL), transactional leadership (TRL), and servant leadership (SL) on agility within construction firms. A quantitative research design was adopted, involving the distribution of 700 questionnaires to construction companies across Peninsular Malaysia, resulting in 311 (44.43%) valid responses. Data from Grade 5 to Grade 7 construction firms were analyzed using a multiple regression analysis. Findings reveal that not all leadership traits positively contribute to agility—Individualized Support under TFL showed a significant negative effect, while Management-by-Exception Passive (MEP), Management-by-Exception Active (MEA) under TRL, and SL significantly enhanced OA. These results underscore the increasing importance of structured and people-centred leadership in fostering agility during digital transformation.
