Abstract
This paper expresses the model design of an IoT-based programmed greenhouse or planthouse monitoring and watering system intended at enhancing agricultural productivity, sustainability and reducing of farmers’ workload. Agriculture is the economic backbone for our country (Myanmar). Climate change is faced all over the world, including in this country. Climate change can mainly damage the agriculture sector and decrease food productivity. Greenhouse irrigation systems and home planting systems are becoming popular solutions to face the challenge of climate change. A programmed plant watering and monitoring system reduces time and effort, and then it helps seeds develop, and keeps hearty fresh vegetables. In this paper, budget automatic watering and monitoring systems will be described by applying ESP8266 NodeMCU microcontroller based on Blynk IoT. The real-time data from various sensors are collected and the system provides remote access to the greenhouse environment via a mobile application. The visible conditions like humidity, soil moisture, and temperature can be monitored by this system. The Blynk application receives and describes all the environmental data, and automatic watering is done from an ESP8266 NodeMCU. The installation of Internet of Things (IoT) technology in greenhouse management offers an experimental solution to the challenge of modern agriculture, ensuring resource efficiency and improved crop productivity.
