ERP Systems are widely recognised as valuable for managing business operations and achieving a competitive advantage. However, implementing ERP systems can often face end-user resistance due to disruption in established processes, and implementing a single ERP system for all business units can be challenging. In addition, a lack of adaptability may result in failures of the ERP system. This study aims to answer three research questions based on a qualitative case study: 1) What are the reasons for the lack of end-user support for the ERP system implementation in Malaysia's Science & Technology Park (STP) organisation? 2) How did the implementation of the ERP system impact the organisational performance of Malaysia's Science & Technology Park (STP)? 3) How can the evaluation elements integrated into the Accelerated SAP methodology improve the benefits of ERP implementation? The data were gathered through semi-structured interviews and secondary data. The study found that end-user support is critical to implement a new system and its day-to-day operation successfully. In addition, ERP systems can enhance an organisation's capability and performance when appropriately designed, delivered, and trained. It was evident that ERP implementation has improved the organisation's performance for internal processes, customers, learning, and development but not financial performance. Adopting new technologies should improve the company's operations, and the number of factors determines how a company can maximise the performance of its ERP system. The study identified resourceful, familiarisation, and stakeholder support as critical factors for ERP adoption. The study contributes to a body of knowledge of ERP implementation and to practice with an enhanced accelerated SAP methodology which introduced a new component called evaluation. The research also helps companies plan for future benefits of replacing or upgrading their ERP systems. Overall, the study highlights the importance of end-user support and appropriate assessment in the successful implementation of ERP and highlights critical factors to achieve optimal returns from ERP systems.
