Abstract

Mathematics has become the fundamental intellectual discipline of all technological societies and it is indispensable in helping a person to think clearly about the values involved in this fast changing world. Failure to understand basic mathematical knowledge will affect the student’s ability to achieve mathematics skills of the highest levels. The most important reason for failure in mathematics is using traditional teaching approach in education. A quantitative experimental posttest only design conducted to achieve the objectives of this study. The objectives of this study were to compare the effectiveness of 2D and 3D animations in teaching mathematics to first grade students, as well as to examine and compare the effectiveness of 2D and 3D animations in assessing retention of mathematics knowledge among first grade students.
