Abstract

This volume contains nine chapters that detail advances in psychology research. Chapter one presents findings from a comprehensive investigation conducted between 2020 and 2021 among doctoral students from a large Italian University. Chapter two discusses the identity of philosophy and science as species of organizational psychology. Chapter three examines the perceptions of instructional, test, and curricular accommodations among college students with reading disabilities, math disabilities, and ADHD and compares these students’ perceptions to the perceptions of students without disabilities. Chapter four aims to uncover the real purpose and meaning of addiction. Chapter five offers a first-person (AK) account of dealing with Multiple Sclerosis, from diagnosis to acceptance of the disease. Examining the impact of emotional drivers on employee sustainability in a successful organization is the goal of chapter six. Chapter seven explores the reasons for the conflictual findings on the association of the use of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM), and vaccine hesitancy reasons, and also assesses the extent to which discourses from CAM practitioner-authors have permeated lived ideologies of lay people. Chapter eight discusses the illusion of seeing Bigfoot. In the final chapter, the authors provide a discussion on how parental accommodation negatively influences obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) symptoms in children as well as its impact on the family dynamics.
