Abstract

Dielectrophoresis experiment has been conducted to study the model yeast cells and tau-441 protein behaviour in a triangular shape gold microelectrode under 5Vpp AC voltage at 500kHz, 5MHz and 25MHz frequency, in three different types of suspending medium— deionized water, distilled water and phosphate buffered saline. Further on, numerical simulation study was performed on a rectangular microelectrode with different design configuration variables (channel height: 20-50μm; electrode width 20-100μm; electrode spacing 5-50μm).
