Abstract

According to United Nations Development Programme (UNDP, 2014), Malaysia is a high middle-income country with per capita income of RM36,937 (USD10,796) and the poverty rate is 0.6%. Nevertheless, as the global economy remains to grow rapidly, Malaysia continuously facing challenges and risks from economic uncertainties. Economic stability can be sustained by embarking on proper policy reforms and promoting business investments such as franchise business model, which can be considered as an alternative way to expand the business cycle. While franchise itself needs a huge amount of investment, the micro-franchise business model has been introduced to meet the needs of the small entrepreneur with a smaller scale of capital. Purpose – The objectives of the study are to explore the characteristic of micro-franchise business model in Ani Sup Utara company. Hence, this study will investigate the success factors of micro-franchise business model for Ani Sup Utara.
