Abstract

The Malaysian Healthcare system is one of the lowest and most affordable healthcare systems in Asia. It tends to treat all Malaysians equally at the public hospitals. The main limitation with the system would be there is a long waiting time to seek treatment especially when the treatment is complex in nature. Public funding is limited and the public hospitals face many constraints especially when there is shortage of specialists, limited equipment and lack of funds. With the fight against Covid-19, the healthcare cost has to be prioritised for the pandemic. Purpose- This study is to find ways to help the B40 to obtain quality and fast treatment before it would turn fatal. A considerable effort is also taken when the patients come at the critical stage of the disease, the study will show the reasons as to why the patients come at a late stage and find solutions to minimise the late stage patients treatment seekers. B40 do not get proper medical attention due to the long waiting time to seek critical treatment. The accessibility to seek medical treatment also may be in question. The quality of life of the low-income earners also found that being single and having earned low income, the quality life is low and the presence of chronic diseases were noticed.
