Abstract

Malaysian B40 and M40 households live in unhappy state worrying over the inadequacy of money. They tend to live under financial stress and have lower well-being. It is proven by past studies that by practicing mindfulness, people will have higher well-being and happier. Mindfulness is the state when someone is conscious of the present moment while well-being is important to everyone as it is the state of people feel contented and comfortable about their life. Purpose – This study is to explore the effectiveness of mindfulness in uplifting well-being, specifically focusing on B40 and M40. It focuses on applying the mindfulness intervention towards B40 and M40 in helping them face their financial stress which leads to uplift their well-being.
