Abstract
Online food ordering is not an alien in Malaysia. Considering people's hectic lifestyle, they prefer to purchase food online rather than preparing at their home or offline environment food services. However, the distance and complex nature of online food services have led to problems and challenges concerning consumer protection. Though Consumer Protection Act 1999, Contract Act 1950, Sales of Goods Act 1957, Food Act 1983 and Electronic Commerce Act 2006 have been regulated, the question is how far these regulations shall protect e-consumers in sales of food contracts. Therefore, a doctrinal legal research methodology has been used to analyzes the application of Malaysian Law in relation to home-based food delivery services and to determine to what extent the existing laws can protect the econsumers. The law of Malaysia needs to be improvised especially the Sale of Goods Act 1957 and Consumer Protection Act 1999 to synchronize with the others updated laws.
