Abstract

Industry 4.0 is a melting pot of innovative technologies, digitalization and transformation, fueled by globalization. Malaysia ranges between industry 2.0 and 3.0 and should not lag behind in a world of swift, exponential ever-changing innovations and technological advancements. Due to the lack of an integrated model of 4.0 and enterprise sustainability the actual advantages are not understood by Malaysian SMEs. Hence to extend the current body of knowledge this study reviews the existing literature and forwards a novel framework for IR 4.0 and sustainability from the viewpoint of Management Leadership and Commitment. It is expected that besides extending current literature this study would instigate ideas among scholars and pave ways for future empirical research.
