Abstract

We are proud to announce that our lecturer from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET ), Dr. Ervina Efzan Mhd Noor, has won a gold medal at The 8th EUROPEAN Exhibition of Creativity and Innovation (EUROINVENT 2016 ), in Lasi, Romania on 22 May 2016. EUROINVENT 2016 is a world-renowned exhibition and the largest exhibition in Eastern Europe. More than 500 innovations from more than 40 countries including Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Korea, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Russia, Poland, Vietnam and United Kingdom involved in this exhibition. Dr. Ervina Efzan Mhd Noor won her medals through her invention titled 'Low Temperature Solder Green Composite Solder'. Other Malaysian universities also participated in the competition and altogether, Malaysia won 9 gold and 2 silver medals at the exhibition. The Low Temperature Green Composite Solder is a research for an alternative , Sn-Ag-Cu solder alloy solder to replace the tin-lead (Sn-Pb) solders for a more environmentally friendly , safe and healthy option for electronic industries.
