Abstract

This paper aims to explore and confirm the role of contamination fear and information privacy in determining tourist attitude to use fingerprint technology. Moderated mediation analysis using bootstrapping method was used to determine whether gender moderate tourist emotions while using the fingerprint technology. Data from 331 usable questionnaires, collected in Kuala Lumpur International Airport, were tested against the conceptual model. The findings indicate that both contamination fear and information privacy are paramount in influencing tourist attitude. On the other hand, females felt more pleasant in moderate and mediating the fingerprint technology usage as compared to males.
