Abstract

In this work, an alternative method called Powder Metallurgy (PM) method is used to replace the current conventional melting and thermomechanical treatment (TMT) method in producing a commercial Cu lead frame. PM method shows no wastage of Cu alloy as the amount of Cu alloy powder is weighed accordingly and compressed into a desired lead frame shape with a designed cavity and subsequently a final product is produced after sintering process.
