Abstract

Preschool educational innovation towards creativity is much relied on cutting edge multitouch edutainment and improving educational practice through creative integration of natural modalities. Multitouch edutainment with richness of artistic merit of interface and other visual effects might influencing and enhancing children’s learning experience. It has not only changed the nature of interactions, but it has also changed learner habits as well. In lieu of this, human computer interaction (HCI) studies in the area of multitouch edutainment do not merely delve into the design of technology, but other influential merits that contribute to the best use of multitouch edutainment. Technology acceptance model (TAM) had been deployed to explain and predict children’s usage behavior. It predicts user acceptance based on the influence of two use beliefs: perceived usefulness (PU) and perceived ease of use (PEU). In this paper, behavioral intentions (BI) are jointly determined by perceived aesthetics of the interactive edutainment, and its perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use (PEU). Based on the ongoing project, this paper aims to explore the potential influential of the use of multitouch edutainment in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) in Malaysia preschool educational setting. In this connection, a children multitouch edutainment interaction (CMEI) model is proposed to understand the impact of usability and aesthetics merits that are important to enable natural and interactive technology-enhanced learning environment.
