Abstract

In the above article [1], the formulation of the classweighted cross-entropy loss in Equation (6) contained a technical error in the placement of the class-weighting term. The weight should be applied to the class index within the summation rather than outside the summation. The corrected formulation of the class-weighted crossentropy loss is given below: Lw(θ) − 1 N X N i=1 X K k=1 wk × yi,k log pi,k (θ) . where wk denotes the weight assigned to class k, yi,k represents the ground-truth label indicator for class k of sample i, and pi,k(θ) denotes the predicted probability.
