Abstract
Ensuring reliable data forwarding in Vehicular Named Data Networking (VNDN) presents a significant challenge due to the high mobility and frequent topology changes of vehicles. To address this issue, this paper proposes a novel vehicle tracking and mobility prediction scheme utilizing Recursive Least Squares (RLS) estimation. The proposed RLS-based model dynamically fuses multiple signal parameters, including Received Signal Strength (RSS), GPS coordinates, and vehicle speed, to accurately estimate vehicle locations in real-time. By integrating mobility predictions, the scheme aims to minimize packet loss and delivery failures that commonly arise due to topology changes. The results demonstrate a substantial improvement in Quality of Service (QoS) compared to legacy schemes, with enhanced data dissemination under conditions of high vehicular mobility. This study lays the groundwork for intelligent and reliable dataforwarding techniques, which are essential for the advancement of future connected and autonomous vehicles.
