Abstract

The research study addressed the persistent lack of effective well-being solutions for employees in audit firms, who operate in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment. The primary aim was to deepen the understanding of well-being issues within audit firms and to develop a digital intervention tailored to this context. This action research employed a scenario-based intervention using a prototype of a well-being mobile application, involving a total of nine respondents. Through the intervention, the study sought to update existing well-being theories, particularly the PERMA model (Positive Emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, Accomplishment), by incorporating additional elements of spirituality and work conditions. This new theoretical framework aimed to provide a more comprehensive approach to addressing the unique well-being challenges faced by audit professionals. The findings indicated that integrating these elements into well-being strategies can significantly enhance employee satisfaction and reduce burnout, ultimately offering a viable digital solution for improving the well-being of audit firm employees.
