Abstract

The use of technology, including Learning Management Systems (LMS), can improve engagement and interactivity for students, while also helping faculty manage courses and reduce planning time. However, despite the benefits of adopting an LMS, many faculty members are hesitant to use technology as a teaching tool and lack the motivation to utilise an LMS effectively. The study aims to investigate the acceptance and use of Cloud Learning Management Systems (CLMS) by academics. Selecting the review topic is the first step in the literature review process followed by identifying relevant publications by searching the most relevant electronic database after specifying the keywords. The primary objective of the literature review is to identify factors that facilitate the acceptance and adoption of CLMS by instructors. By considering these factors, this study proposes a framework called the Holistic Cloud Learning Management System Framework. This framework aims to deepen the understanding of the factors influencing instructors’ acceptance and usage of cloud-based learning management systems. It addresses the challenges faced by faculty members in adopting technology and offers guidance for successful integration. By leveraging this framework, institutions can optimise their use ofCLMS and create a more engaging and effective learning environment, strategically aligning with the imperatives of e-Learning in the context oflndustry 4.0 (IR4.0).
