Abstract

Wireless communication systems play a pivotal role in various applications, driving the need for robust and efficient modules. This paper addresses the challenges, methodologies, and outcomes of a project focused on evaluating the signal range and stability of the SX1278 and Dragino LoRa Shield modules. The project encompassed material sourcing, module operation familiarization, testing location selection, and overcoming programming tool limitations. The key objectives include determining the maximum achievable distance and assessing signal stability of the modules. The analysis of collected data revealed that the Dragino module demonstrated superior performance over the SX1278 module. This study contributes valuable insights into the comparative performance of these LoRa modules, offering implications for their practical deployment in wireless communication systems.
