Abstract

Hydrogeomorphic features refer to hydrological and physiographic features of a terrain. In this thesis, mathematical morphology , a branch of image processing that deals with the extraction of image components that are useful for representational and descriptional purpose, is used to extract hydrogeomorphic features such as drainage, network, ridge networks, watersheds, peaks, pits, mountains, piedmont slopes and basins.
