Abstract

• The purpose of this project is solve the issue of forgetting items at home whenever the user is going out of his/her home. Items such as the home keys, wallets, bags are mostly forgotten whenever people go out. Typically people realize the forgotten items after they already leave the house, or when they already at work. • We came to a conclusion that nowadays most people do not forget their smartphones. By taking advantage of this, we designed the “ Reminder System “ product to send a message to the user’s phone reminding him/her to take the item after it receives a triggering signal. • The product was designed to have a piezoelectric sensor attached to the hand of the door, and a box that contains an Arduino circuit. The piezoelectric sensor will induce a voltage signal whenever the user open the door. The signal will be the trigger to remind the user with the items. • Using an Arduino Uno as an interface board as a mean to store the data from the transducer, compare it to a predefined value and trigger a command to send a message to the user’s phone if it is above that predefined value
