Abstract

The Piezo Bell Mat is an alternative to the existing doorbell that we installed at our homes. However, this Piezo Bell Mat is integrated with Piezoelectric Sensors that are be able to detect the stepping object or person. When the owner is not at home, the visitor will be able to leave messages through a voice recorder installed together with the system. The owner will then able to hear the messages when they get back home. The reason we develop this product is we want to create an alternative product to replace the regular doorbell that we normally use at our homes with additional features such as voice recorder and camera module that does not exist in the normal doorbell. • The Piezo Bell Mat is consisting of two parts, which is the mat and the system. The mat will be integrated with the piezoelectric sensors which will be used to detect a stepping object or person. The piezoelectric sensors will convert the mechanical energy produced by the stepping force into electrical signal that will be sent to the system. The system will be activated and it will prompt the visitor to leave messages through the voice recorder as the owner is not available. When the owner gets home, they will be able to hear the recorded messages through the recorder. A camera module is installed to system for security purposes where the owner will be able to see the visitor in front of their door before opening them.
