Abstract

Facial expressions in communications are very important. However, in the currently available telecommunication system, real time transmission of adequate video signal requires a wide bandwidth which is often very expensive to provide and difficult to implement. For an alternative, this research attempts to realize facial expressions reconstruction based on voice information by proposing a new system called "Voice Driven Emotion Recogniser Mobile Phone (VDERM)". This system intends to reconstruct facial expressions at the receiving end based on the extracted emotions from the received voice tone.
