Yap, Yee Ling (2018) Characterisation Of PEO-PMMA Polymer Electrolytes With EC Plasticisers And Silicon Dioxide Inorganic Fillers. PhD thesis, Multimedia University. Full text not available from this repository.Abstract
In this study, poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) and poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) based solid polymer electrolytes were prepared by a solution cast method. Lithium trifluoromethanesulfonate (LiCF3SO) and ethylene carbonate (EC) were used as the lithium salt and plasticiser, respectively. The effect of inorganic fillers on solid polymer electrolytes were investigated in this study, in terms of different filler types, i.e. silicon dioxide (SiO2v 3), aluminium oxide (Al2O3) and titanium oxide (TiO), and different particle sizes (range of micron to nanometer). Furthermore, the PMMA-PEO blend solid polymer electrolytes were prepared to study the blending effect of PMMA into PEO. All the resulted solid polymer electrolytes were studied and characterised using Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS), Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM).
