Abstract

On 4th January, Prof. Dr. Ir. Wong Hin Yong, our Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, was elected as a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) United Kingdom - one of the world's largest engineering institutions, having been founded in 1871, with over 167,000 members in 150 countries. He is one of the youngest members to have ever been recognised by the institution, itself a bastion of engineering standards overseeing an increasingly intertwined global industry from its offices in Savoy Place as well as the Micheal Faraday House in Stevenage, UK. Prof Wong's fellowship, along with those of other recipients, were published in the UK daily, The Guardian, in April 2017.
