Abstract

Works and contribution of Dr. Emerson Raja yielded him the Notable Commendation Award, presented by his alma mater, SRM University, India in conjunction with its Alumni Day on 12 March 2017. The Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, MMU was distinguished for his 27 years of profound teaching in the field of engineering. Dr. Emerson Raja who was also a former Secretary of SRM University Alumni Association, accepted the award from Prof. Prabir K. Bagchi, the Vice Chancellor of SRM university. During his one-term tenure in the association, he introduced many initiatives to enhance graduates networking - the most notable one is the internal newsletter entitled ‘Voice of SRM Alumni’. Dr. Emerson Raja studied Computer Science Engineering at the university from 1985 to 1989. Currently, SRM University has 38,000 students and it is one amongst the top 31 Indian Universities by the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Ranking 2017. The university is also ranked as the Top 75 Private Engineering Institutes Ranking by the Times of India, Engineering Institutes Ranking Survey 2016.
