Abstract

Security has become a reality in all computer related technology. This thesis studies one particular aspect of providing communicating security: The Firewall technology. This piece of work provides a framework using the System Development Life Cycle in the fprm of a waterfall model within which firewall systems and their functions can be designed and evaluated.
