Collaborative working environments are an essential and integral part of human resource development in today's knowledge economy. This need for effective means of communication and sharing of knowledge and resources has been augmented due to globalization of economies and democratization of education and educational opportunities. This paper presents Merlin, a collaborative learning environment for systematic planning, integrated chat, visualization of concepts, easy retrieval and uploading of resources, modeling, coaching and reflection of ideas. User testing on learning effectiveness shows promising results.
