Abstract

2010 MAY 18 - (<http://www.newsrx.com> NewsRx.com) -- According to recent research published in the Journal of Visual Communication and Image Representation, "Contemporary fingerprint system uses solid flat sensor which requires contact of the finger on a platen surface (see also <http://www.newsrx.com/library/topics/Visual-Communication-and-Image-Representation.html> Visual Communication and Image Representation). This often results in several problems such as image deformation, durability weakening in the sensor, latent fingerprint issues which can lead to forgery and hygienic problems."
