Abstract

This empirical study focuses on exploring the antecedents of green financial technology (Green FinTech) adoption and the role of organization green innovation capability (GIC) in this process. A conceptual framework grounded on the model of technology-organization-environment (TOE) has suggested by this study and verified empirically using data collected via an online questionnaire survey from 208 administrative and managerial employees positioned in the Jordanian banks. Toward accomplish the purposes of this study and address the research questions the partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) methodology was utilized to examine the first and second order constructs. The findings highlighted that the three constructs of the TOE model have significant and positive influence on GIC. The findings have also revealed that the adoption of Green FinTech is significantly and positively influenced by the technology construct and GIC, where the organizational and environmental constructs did not demonstrate statistically significant effects on Green FinTech. However, the three indirect relationships between the three constructs of the TOE model and the Green FinTech were supported indicting the vital role of the GIC in facilitating the adoption process.
