Abstract

Undergraduate students’ career prospects are not guaranteed. Securing jobs is not an easy task. Hence, multiple efforts need to be made within their environment. Nevertheless, environmental factors vary from time to time; there is no fixed strategy for monitoring them. Hence, it is crucial to observe the current situation of the environment together with the current needs among undergraduate students, who are future developmental entities. This study aims to investigate how environmental factors influence Malaysian undergraduate students’ career preparedness. This study involved 66 undergraduate students. The instruments were constructed by adapting questionnaire items from previous studies. A correlational research design was employed to meet the aim of the study which requires quantitative data collection and analysis. This study revealed that environmental factors significantly influenced undergraduate students’ career preparedness. The findings inform educators about the importance of integrating valuable and available resources into students’ learning environment to foster undergraduate students’ career preparation.
