Abstract

Smart Internet of Toys (IoToys) can provide interactive learning and companionship for children, but many systems still provide limited support for guardian awareness and safety notification. This study presents the design and development of a smart IoT robot toy with AI-based safety judgment and parental monitoring features. The prototype integrates a robot head unit, web-based monitoring dashboard, camera viewing, remote movement control, two-way communication, AI-assisted safety judgment, Telegram guardian notification, memory-based allergy reminder, chat history, and behavior report. The system uses an ESP32-S3 CAM head unit, an ESP32-C3 mobile base, a Node.js server, cloud-assisted AI services, and a Telegram Bot notification channel. Scenario-based testing was conducted, and the results showed that the prototype can support remote observation and notify guardians about child safety-related scenarios such as fear, injury, danger, and food allergies.
