Abstract

Production planning, as a key component of industrial energy management in industrial processes, can generate significant cost savings by strategically scheduling machine operations in accordance with Time-of-Use (ToU) pricing scheme. This work examines production scheduling within a multi-stage production system, where each stage consists of multiple machines. A linear programming model is proposed to minimize electricity costs by optimizing machine operation schedules while considering sequential process requirements, manpower constraints, total production volume targets, and electricity supply limits. Simulation results demonstrate that the model effectively minimizes electricity costs by optimizing machine operation schedules, thereby enabling optimal production planning.
