Abstract

The increasing prevalence of social media has resulted in an increasing trend among university students using it for educational purposes. The purpose of this study is to examine the utilisation of social-media by university students as a means of facilitating e-learning, offering new insights into the effectiveness of social media in online education. The theoretical framework of this paper was constructed upon the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). This study utilised a descriptive approach, issuing online questionnaires to gather data from Multimedia University students who used social media technology instruments for e-learning. The findings indicated that the students involved in this study demonstrated favourable attitudes towards employing social-media as an e-learning instrument. Additional research is necessary to evaluate the preference of social-media in e-learning as compared to physical learning experience.
